Fish & chips or meat pie & chips, both with lots of salt & vinegar on the chips and some mushy peas on the side. Maybe a wally (large gherkin), a couple of pickled onions or a pickled egg as well. And it wouldn't be complete without sauce - tomato ketchup, brown sauce or curry sauce. And a big bottle of fizz to wash it all down!

Fish & Chips with malt vinegar, no one has the nerve over here to try a steak and kidney pie place. Or even a nice tea place but of course thats not for take out, thats for civilized humans who expect to partake in the restaurant they order in not drive off with their food like criminals.

English--probably (battered) fish and "chips" (french fried potatoes)

Scottish--a meat pastie and shortbread cookies, or haggis with mashed rutabega on the side and some ginger beer

American--Southern deep fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, green beans, and corn bread

American vegetarian (my preference)--red potatoes seasoned with garlic and fresh dill and butter, green bean casserole (made with cream of mushroom soup, french cut green beans, and french fried onions), and lemonade.
