Yes. They think that we are all geeks and weird. Its just that they need to understand that its just personal preference. Some of them like Broccoli and some don't. That doesn't mean that we judge them. From what I have seen, most of the people don't know the meaning of vegetarians and Vegans, How tasty the food can be and how nutritious the food is without the addition of meat. My opinion is do your research before criticizing others.

I was a vegetarian for about 8 years (until I was pregnant with my first child and started having major cravings for meat), and I found that people were always shocked by what I would NOT eat. They assumed I would eat fish or dairy products, but eating fish would mean that I wasn't a vegetarian at all, and eating dairy products didn't fit with my type of vegetarianism. Also, people seemed to think that if something was cooked with meat in it then I could just pick that out and everything would be okay...that wasn't okay with me at the time, though.

People who freak out over somebody else's diet are not worth worrying about. Vegetarians do seem to want everybody else to care about their vegetarianism a lot more than is warranted, so maybe you ought to just live your life the way you want to and not get too excited about other people's reaction or lack thereof.

I thought all vegetarians eat only vegetables or simply no meat. And what do mean, "freak out"? BTW, that term originated in the druggie culture, back in the '60s or '70s.

Vegetarian means you don't eat meat. What's the other kind? Vegetarian/Carbohydrian? If there is more than one deffinition, perhaps you should be considered an herbivore. That may clear up the confusion.

Probably because vegetarianism is wrong....in my opinion. If science means anything to you than you believe in evolution. Meat is part of the reason we are where we are. It helped develope our brains.

If your worried about hurting animals.....that's what chickens are for! Tofu hotdogs were an invention created by our intelligence.....which meat is partly responsible. You owe it to....uh.....the history of mankind to eat some meat!

Do they freak out like that?

Well, I don't know... what do you eat? I know about many different kinds of vegans as I come from a VERY earthy town. Are the the kind that does not even eat eggs, or are you the kind that can eat fish and not red meat? Not sure unless I know what you eat exactly.

People who have nothing in their lives always "freak-out" over the lives of others. Who cares? Tell them to mind their business....And eat whatever they like.
