My girlfriend is fillipina and she said that some people do. It is just a cultural thing. My last girlfriend was Korean and I got that question ALL the time - but only one Korean I ever met thought that it was okay. Everyone else thought the idea was disgusting. I think this is more of an old time thing - maybee 75-100 years ago...

Right then you asked you got it. I spent two tours based on a ship there and Olongapoo city after hours with the varied food vendors selling barbecue "chicken legs" and such, get my point? Filipino girl I hung out with (office worker) told me that all those 3 legged dogs were not just an accident, O.K.?

they ridicule a lot of what we eat especially some of the foods we eat are high in fat. They also think it's really weird to eat such foods like balut, dinuguan( blood stew with pork), or kare kare ( a peanut stew with tripe, pork and some greens-- bokchoy).

However, there are other dishes that are not high in bad cholesterol like sinigang ( tamarind stew either with fish, pork or beef with tomatoes, onions and greens).

It really just depends on what you eat and there are a lot of influences of Filipino cuisine like the Spanish, Chinese, Indo- Malay, American and they come from a variety of dishes and foods. When you go to another country, other than the US -- you may find unusual foods that you want or not eat -- it is according to preference,

Maybe because it's true? My mom is a Filipino and she tells me all the time about how when she was growing up there that neighbors dogs that were loose and stray dogs would just disappear. She said that you just knew what happened to them. (They most likely ended up someones dinner.)
