You need to talk with a cardiologist. What test was used to determine left ventricular enlargement? There are many causes for cardiac enlargement, and the seriousness depends, in part, on the cause and the degree of impairment in the heart's pumping ability or ejection fraction. You likely need to have an evaluation and proper medications, including---but not limited to--- an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor.

The heart like any muscle will enlarge or hypertrophy if it has to work harder. The enlargement of the left ventricle may be because it has a greater workload. This sometimes is normal in athletes, or it can be due to a person with hypertension, obesity makes the heart pump through more blood vessels and increases the work load, or perhaps an aortic valve stenosis. The best you can do for your heart is not to smoke(if you smoke), try to drop some weight, and if you have high blood pressure get that under control. Also try to get some mild exercise like walking three times a week, but first check with your doctor before starting any exercise program.

It isn't very serious, but I would be concerned and change my lifestyle a bit. Your left ventricle is what pumps the oxygenated blood throughout your body. What you want to do now is have that ventricle stay at the current size and not get any bigger or you will end up with CHF (congestive heart failure)and/or MVP (mitral valve prolapse). Follow your doctors orders and stay compliant on the meds and you'll do fine. Good luck to you!

It can be if you have other heart related problem (like diabetes, heart disease, if you are a smoker, high cholesterol levels) and your doctor may send you for more tests to monitor its progress. You may also find that medication maybe prescribed to help with alleviating the enlargement of the left ventricle. If you look after yourself, maintain a healthy diet and active lifestyle you probably won't suffer too many complications!

Common problem when angina muscle is overworked. You can take ayurvedic medicine for this. In post menopause this is the curse for ladies. Walking produces short breath and chest pain sometimes.
Hormone balancer medication such as Natural progesterone cream may be helpful, but consult nearest alternative practitioner.
