It's non-vegan. Because the Egg could have become a baby chick. Therefore it is still animal killing, according to vegans.

Do you mean in reference to vegans and vegetarians? Vegans will not eat anything from an animal so eggs are a no-no. Some vegetarians will eat eggs for the protein, but that is a personal choice. They are not vegetables, they are protein (like meats).

That would depend on the kind of person you were, if you were just a vegitarian, then eggs would be fine, but there are also vegans who won't even eat eggs, milk, or anything that could be considered and animal by-product.

Lets get one thing straight, the eggs that you buy at the store could never be a chicken, because its unfertilized, yes a chicken can still lay eggs with out having sex.

eggs are vegetarian, but they are not vegan... the eggs that are sold at the grocery store are unfertilized, so technically, it would have never become a chicken... however, if you are also anti cruelty, consider purchasing free range eggs, where the hens are not kept in wire cages that are painful on the bottom of their feet.

Egg is considered a form of Vegetarian. Total Vegetarians eat only plant food. They do not eat any animal foods, including fish, eggs, dairy products, and honey.
Vegans not only omit all animal products from their diets, but they also eliminate them from the rest of their life. Vegans use nothing from animals, such as leather, wool, and silk.
Lacto-Vegetarians will include dairy products into their diet of plant food.
Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarians eat both eggs and dairy products.
Pesco-Vegetarians include fish into their diets.
Pollo-Vegetarians eat poultry, such as chicken, turkey, and duck.

vegetarians sometimes eat eggs and milk. those who don't are vegans. eggs are an animal product although no animal was killed to produce them....some would say the chickens laying them are kept in inhumane conditions. whether or not you eat them depends on your reasons for being vegetarian.

Depends on your philosophy. Ovo-lacto vegetarians are generally considered vegetarians but they eat eggs, many because they don't have to kill the animal to get its egg.

Vegans think differently, so they don't eat any animal products at all.

I've been ovo-lacto-vegetarian for 34 years. It started out for philosophical reasons, but these days that's just the way I like to eat.
