That's strange. I've had several solumedrol injections in the last couple of years with no side effects.
I guess I'm just lucky or maybe I don't notice any side effects because I am wheezing and gasping for breath.
anyway---the shot works!

Absolutely, you have had a bad allergy attack, affecting the lungs most notably but also other tissues, and that causes the capillaries to become "leaky" and the fluid that you should have been filtering through your kidneys has been what the doctors call "third spaced" into your tissues. As that resolves, the fluid moves back into the vascular system where it belongs, and your very smart kidneys are doing their job.
You may have been too preoccupied to notice that you had probably been urinating less than normal since the "attack" began. Not to worry.

A long, long time ago, I had the steroid shot from a nut allergy - right in the butt!! I can't remember if I had to go the bathroom a lot, though. I was young enough that I remembered a few things:
Having your throat close off is really scary.
There are lots of doctors available in the middle of the night to discuss things about you without actually talking to you.
That's it.

Absolutely - this is very common. This rushes blood throughout the body and forces blood vessels to expand. Expanded blood vessels then take in additional oxygen. It's not uncommon that the emergency room encourage you to drink a caffeinated beverage as well - this has the same effect.
