She's clearly confused. People would probably think she's stupid.

Some people have their own definition of vegetarian. Maybe she means that she only doesn't eat "red meat" (e.g. beef), but she eats white meat (e.g. chicken).
There are also many people who think that vegetarians eat fish. Not so great when you go to a restaurant, ask for something vegetarian and get something with fish....
I am a vegetarian myself and I would define vegetarian like that: NO meat, whatever the animal was, better said NO DEAD ANIMALS at all. The only products by animals a vegetarian would eat are milk products and eggs, most vegetarians would shoose those by "lucky chicken" or "lucky cows", just animals that are treated "nice".
A strict vegetarian would also not eat gelatine products, e.g. gummy bears. But there are also vegetarian gummy bears, very expensive but nice.
Remember, there are many reasons for someone to be or to become vegetarian. Some people want to loose weight, others want to live healthier. In those cases, some of them would like to eat some chicken sometimes, because chicken is healthy, too. Other vegetarians, I would say "the real vegetarians" and also the majority, doesn't want that animals have to suffer for their own pleisure. There are also other reasons. I think when you ask your collegue at work what her own reason is, you will better understand her.

I think that a VEGEtarian only is supposed to eat NONmeat products... My sister is a vegetarian and thinks chicken and turkey is "meat." Sounds like someone is in need of some attention. Or maybe she thinks is eating soy turkey or soy fried chicken... But I know some people think differently about poultry. In the whole "cruelty" aspect. In my mind, eating meat is eating meat. Poultry, pork, beef, alligator, whatever you eat. But some people are vegetarians for health reasons. That may be why she is eating chicken and turkey, they are both lean meats. (that kind of rules out the whole turkey sub and FRIED chicken). I don't know, that is a good question!!!

There are different types of vegetarians, she's a pollo-vegetarian. Which means she doesn't eat red meat but she eats everything else like chicken, turkey, etc. Don't be too quick to call her non veggie.

I think your co-worker doesn't know the true definition of being a vegetarian and is confused about it. She probably thinks that being a vegetarian means not eating red meat only, but that's not true. A true vegetarian only consumes vegetables, grains, fruits, nuts, seeds and occasionally dairy products such as milk or cheese.

No, she isnt to answer your question. I didn't know that vegertarianism is such a complicated science. There are some "vegetarians" who eat eggs, dairy, fats, bonemeal, gelatine though; They are called ovo-loctos. And Vegans eat nothing that contains meat product, and most do not even wear leather. I think this person you are talking to is just wanting to be included into a group of some kind.

Nope, she is a poser. A real tool, not a real vegetarian. It is people like her that confuse and complicate life for real vegetarians. I am a real vegan and when I tell people that I get asked dumb questions like so do you eat fish? NO I am a vegan!!! For a real vegetarian chicken is one of the worst animal rights offenders.
She definately is looking for attention, you should call her out.

You're not a vegetarian if you eat any type of meat, including poultry and fish. Watch the video below :-)

Vegetarians have levels..... Vegans eat no animal products whatsoever..... I think she's prolly the type that doesn't eat red meat but that's less strict than the vegetarian's diet.
