I just observed white coating on my tongue . I scrape off in the morning it will come back by evening ,a good quantity. It doesn't bleed . Also I don't have any other symptoms of HIV . Chance of HIV infection is very less for me .Can someone tell me how can I confirm this is not related to HIV. I never tested for HIV , I will go for testing later .

You might just have old food and stuff on your tongue, that's not necessarily a sign of HIV. If you want, go to your doctor and ask to get a HIV test done. HIV usually doesn't show up positive for at least 6-12 months though, so if you think you were infected less them six months ago, you should probably wait till then. Good luck.

The best answer could be to go for a test. But since you say you could go later check if you have been taking any antibiotic. the antibiotic kills even the friendly bacteria as aresult there is no friendly bacteria to fright off the fungus and that is how da white coating or thrush builds up. Note that am not a medical doctor but also once had interest coz my daughter had it the time she was on antibiotic and i had to contact my GP over the same. Goodluck.

i bet you are not HIV Positive, you are sick a bit and that is the reason for the white deport on your tongue , there is a local drug that is just a mix of a bark of tree that in my language yoruba called EFU , it does the cleaning and you be surprise in less than 10minute, it readish and it is bitter but you don't need to drink it just to wash the mouth with it and it clear all the whitish , i don't think you need any thing else, you can ask for doctor if they have that although they tell you they wash the tongue but that is temporary , the EFU will clear it forever till about 5 to 6 years before you notice such again ,

If you are that concerned about this coating on your tongue, then why will you wait until later to go for testing? I suggest that you go to a doctor immediately and find out what is going on. If you have sex with others and if you do have an STD, you can spread it so I would advise you to get to a doctor ASAP and check it out.
Good Luck!

cant base whether you have HIV or not by the symptoms, you have to get tested to know. symptoms are very vague and lots of people dont have any until the disease is advanced. if youre at low risk you probably dont have HIV its probably just morning goo on your tounge. but its good for everyone to get tested once in awhile, id do it if i were you.

This could be a yeast infection (Thrush), why do you figure your chance of contracting HIV is very low (are you abstinent) Go to the doctor.

You may just have a condition called Thrush. You will need to get a mouthrinse from your doctor to make this go away. I hope your test results were negative. Good luck.

It could be yeast! Don't listen to this people on here they are trying to scare you. Go to a doctor and let him take a look. I'm a nurse and it sounds like you have a yeast infection in your mouth

sometimes white coating on your tongue can be a form of thrush...people i know who have a low immune system due to medication or disease have thrush...maybe you should see your primary care doctor and they can prescribe an antibiotic that you can swish in your mouth and swallow...(it is gross, but it works in less than a week's time)...or maybe you can try listerine mouth wash...that works just as well....only don't swallow that.
