OK, THE PUMPS ( WHICH WE DEFINE AS = INHALERS)), ARE MEDICAL DEVICES WHICH ENABLE THE PATIENT TO RECIEVE HIS REQUIRED,PRESCRIBED DOSAGE OF THE MEDICINE.
IN CASE OF BRONCHIAL ASTHMA;
BLUE INHALERS= CONTAINS A BRONCHO-DILATOR SUBSTANCES CALLED ( SALBUTAMOL). THIS KIND OF PUMPS CAN BE USED FREQUENTLY AS MUCH AS THE PATIENT IS IN NEED, AND IT IS USED WHEN THE ASTHMATIC PERSON FEEL BAD, AND WHEN THE ATTACK SEEMS COMING...
RED-BEIGE-BROWN - DARK INHALERS= CONTAIN A STONGE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY STERIOD ((CORTISON)) SUBSTANCE, SO THE DOSAGE FOR SUCH PUMPS SHOULD BE MEASURED ((e,g, 2 BUFFES, 2 TIMES)), AND THE REASON BEHIND CONTROLING THE DOSE IS TO AVOID THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE STERIODS.

WELL,........
IF YOU ARE ASTHMATIC , OR EVEN HAVE ONLY SOME DIFFICULTIES TO BREATH WELL, USE THE BLUE AS YOUR BODY NEED TO CURE.
BUT,
ONLY TAKE THE MEASURED DOSAGE , WHICH HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED BY YOUR RESPIRATORY PHYSICIAN..

***NOTE: THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IN USING THE INHALERS (PUMPS) IS THE """""TECHNIQUE""""" TO USE THEM, ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO TEACH YOU HAVE TO USE SUCH INHALERS PERFECTLY...

Two types of medication are found in MDI or metered dose inhalers. Albuterol for example is a bronchodilator, it works during an acute attack to dilate and expand the bronchiols to make breathing easier. The other type of inhaler is a steroid medication that is used to reduce inflammation so it is considered a maintainence medication to help prevent attacks. The different colors of canisters are just the different medications in their own containers.

The colors on the plastic casings? Those are often specific to the drug and/or the brand.

For example, generic Albuterol is often light blue, but Proventil HFA - which is essentially the same drug, is yellow.
