You write "cash bar" or "byob" (bring your own bottle) on the invitation.

I have never heard of such a thing in my life. You are going to sell drinks at a party you are throwing. The only time I have heard of that is like when the party is being held in an establishment where you really couldn't have brought your own, like a hotel or VFW or something. In that case, just adding it to the invite at the bottom would be the thing to do. If it is at your house, that is tacky.

Are you sending invites or verbal invites??? If you are sending invites it is proper to include the words "Cash bar available". People will realize that you do not want to be responsible for those who over indulge. If you are inviting verbaly, go ahead and mention it, if you get a negitive response, maybe they shouldn't be at your party.
