Diabetes isn't fatal. However, the condition and its complications can shorten people's lives as much as thirty years. With proper care and treatment, a diabetic person can live a long, healthy life.

it is not fatal. if well-controlled, patients can live lnog, healthy lives. i have an 88 year-old diabetic male patient; has been a diabetic for many years. (i'm a healthcare provider) I also have folks in their 40s who look like they're 60 because they have chosen to live their lives in such a way as to put themselves at risk. then again, maybe their diabetes is different or worse or more difficult to control. (Judge not lest ye be judged.) however, i am firmly convinced that diabetics have great control of their health and their prognosis by how compliant they are, how often they go for follow-up appointments, and how well they work to prevent complications.

Type 2 diabetes, usually referred to as adult onset, is when your body produces insulin but can not use it properly. This type can be treated successfully with the right diet and exercise in most circumstances. If blood sugars are not kept under control at some point insulin will probably be integrated / oral medications are also available.
People with diabetes can live long, happy lives but must be diligent in their care and make sure you see your endocrinologist on a regular basis.

Can be. If you go end renal and your kidneys shut down you can definitely die. If you don't go end renal you can live a long life. If you do, you will be told about transplants and dialysis. Transplants can give you many additional years. However, five years is average. Dialysis can give you twenty to thirty years or you could die immediately. Add to that, dialysis has a lot of side effects. In the end, we all die. That is not what you should think about . You should accept that you have high blood sugar and that it will most likely create other problems if you don't treat the situation seriously. Control your diet, exercise and see your doctor and hopefully death will be a long time coming.
