I'm a pararmedic student and my instructor got pissed when i didnt know the answer and I made up some stupid response... Old ACLS say that in SVT we try to stimulate vagal tone prior to chemicaly cardioverting! NEED HELP QUICK HAVE TO SEE THIS MAN TOMMOROW AND LETS JUST SAY HE DOESNT PLAY AROUND!
He wants 5 ways & cant find one!

Maneuvers that can increase vagal tone include gagging, coughing, Valsalva(holding breath then bearing down), ice to the face(diving reflex), and ocular pressure but should never be used especially in children/infants. That's 5.
