Actually the difference between bread and cheese mold is that cheese mold can be cut off and has not affected the other parts. Bread mold may just be seen in one area but has usually spread throughout a lot of the bread

Like others have said, I've done it and lived to tell, but I wouldn't eat it if it had a lot of mold growing on it. Bread is made with yeast so it is very susceptible to mold. I am single and it takes me a long time to go through a loaf of bread by myself. For this reason, I keep it in the freezer. You nuke it for about 10-15 seconds to bring it back to life. The taste is normal.

The mold you cut off is only the mold you can see. Mold spores have already drifted and embedded in other parts of the bread. Mold requires only minimal moisture and air to grow. For the first 2-3 days, most mold looks white. If you see surface mold though (i.e. fuzzy green dots), "root" threads have invaded it deeply. A few molds produce mycotoxins which are poisonous.
I wouldn't chance it.

It usually takes several weeks for mold to form on bread. Time for a new loaf when mold forms. If it is just a little on the crust of one or two slices, fine, but anymore than that it is time to get the crackers out.

ew no. the whole entire loaf is bad if it has MOLD on it. i would just throw it away and not go through the hassle of trying to cut off the mold in the first place.

Absolutely. May I recommend a dipping sauce recipe for your bread? Just devine...
1 cup of dried shredded cockroaches-german (not american)
1 teaspoon of cobra venom
1- year old orange, freshly squeezed
1/4 of fresh maggots
2 sheep testicles- ground
1 cup of 3 month old "aged" shrimp
Take the above ingredients into a blender and blend for 2 minutes
Serve chilled or warmed on your bread
Enjoy!!!

oh, they know nothing. Bread mold is perfectly safe, it just tastes horrible. My dad eats it with mold, but I'd cut it off, it' s just too vile.
