Why is it so hard to invent medication that blocks the receptors?

Nicotine just like alcohol is a drug, a very powerful addicting drug. It's the addictive powers that keep smokers smoking. For some people, they feel calmer when they smoke, more relaxed. For some people, they do it to lose weight, others may do it to be cool. Others do it because they were bullied into it and others do it because they enjoy smoking. But the bottom line for all these excuses is they are all addicted to nicotine.

Depending on the willingness of the smoker actually determines if they quit for good or not. If a smoker is determined to quit for good there are lots of things that person(s) can try with success. From hypnotherapy to a patch. But not only is it the willingness to quit important but their belief if the products would work or not for them. Smokers must look at the possibilities and be more up beat about their process and their future and have a positive attitude as well. If the smoker says "oh that won't work for me!" then he or she just sealed his fate by being pessimistic/negative already without even trying the product(s).

So in essense it isn't that it is hard to invent medications that block the receptors, the problem usually comes from the individual(s) willingness and their belief in themselves to quit.

I hope I was helpful to you! Have a great evening!

The addictive effect of nicotine is linked to its capacity to trigger the release of dopamine this is a chemical in the brain that is associated with feelings of pleasure.
