Good question. The object of purchasing M&Ms is to EAT them.

If they're actually, really MELTING - as in chocolate gooing up your hands, you're holding them WAY too long. What is probably happening is that the COLOR is coming off somewhat in your hands. There's a difference.

Because hands are warm (and can also sweat). But they generally melt faster in the mouth.
Anyway, that's a good example of false advertising.

your body heat melts the m&ms. also u have to hold the m&ms real tight just to make them melt.it takes along time for them to melt.one more thing advertisement are lies. sometimes there is some truth to them but most of the time it is bs.

You must be standing in Southern Tx where the heat will melt them in the package on your way from the store to the car. My advice throw them in the freezer - makes them tasty!

CHOCOLATE HAS A MELTING POINT AT 76 DEGREES AND IF YOU HOLD M & M's LONG ENOUGH, YES THEY WILL MELT. THE IDEA IS THEY ARE SOOOOO GOOD, YOU DON'T HOLD THEM THAT LONG SO THEREFORE THEY WON'T MELT IN YOUR HANDS.

Ha-Ha!!! You're not supposed to keep them in your hands that long--that's the whole point--they're not supposed to stay in your hands long enought to melt!!
