Type 1 diabetes usually has obvious symptoms such as increased thirst, frequent urination and weight loss.

Type 2 often does not show symptoms right away which is why it goes unnoticed at frist. People with type 2 diabetes often are not diagnosed for 4-7 years after the onset of the disease. It is recommended that people over 45 get tested regularly.

Sometimes there are none, but as it worsens there may be
thirst, swelling of the ankles etc. Sometimes faintness. You
can get online information from the diabetes association.
Diabetes can lead to dialysis, blindness, heart & eye
problems, and amputation of limbs if it is not kept in check.
