pretty much, although some companies make vegan cookies. and at the local vegan restaurants, there are even vegan brownies and vegan cheesecake.
but in general, baked goods have eggs, milk, or butter in them. vegans don't eat any products that come from animals, so anything with dairy or eggs is off limits. the only exceptions are those foods made particularly for vegans, because most people don't think twice about using dairy and eggs.
honestly, that's been the hardest thing about going vegan, for me. i have to learn to bake all over without these ingredients. it's a challenge!

Eating a vegan diet doesn't have to be boring. In fact, there is no reason why it shouldn't be the most exciting way to eat. Fresh plant-based foods, organically grown and naturally prepared, are among nature's most healthful and delicious gifts.
Chocolate Mint Chip Cake
1/2 cup soy milk, rice milk, or other non-dairy milk of choice
1/2 cup Mori-Nu silken style tofu, extra firm
1 cup water
1 2/3 cups unbleached cane sugar
1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
3/4 cup soy flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1 1/4 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1/2 cup applesauce
2 t. vanilla
1/2 t. peppermint extract
1 cup vegan chocolate chips
Lightly oil two 8-inch round cake pans and set aside. In a food processor or blender, place the soy milk and tofu, and blend for 1 minute. Add the water and blend an additional 30 seconds. In a medium bowl, sift together the sugar, flour, soy flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the food processor and blend for 1 minute. Add the applesauce, vanilla, and peppermint extract, and blend an additional 30 seconds or more to combine. Add the chocolate chips and pulse 2-3 times to incorporate. Divide the batter evenly between the two pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Place the cakes on a rack to cool for 5 minutes. Then invert the layers on to a rack, remove the pans, and allow to cool completely before frosting with frosting of choice, if desired.
*Note: This cake can also be prepared in a 9x13-inch pan for 20-25 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

There are recipes that you can make for baked goods for vegans so if you want to be one and eat sweet stuff you can Google some recipes. Vegans can not have butter, milk, cheese or eggs or anything that comes from an animal so all the baked goods with butter and eggs are not edible.

People have such strange ideas about vegans. We are treated like aliens on answers. Just because we eat naturally doesn't make us any different. I enjoy baked vegetables, cakes etc.
I limit how much I eat though as I watch my weight like everyone else. Did you see the recipe for chocolate cake another answerer gave. You can be vegan and still enjoy your food too.

We can eat baked goods if we make them ourselves or buy them from a reputable source that doesn't use animal products. For instance, if a recipe calls for milk, I can adapt it by using a soy (bean) product. Many vegans use processed sugar & many do not. I prefer to use honey instead. This makes for a much more time consuming & labor intensive product, not to mention that it costs more than using more common ingredients that are easier to find & cost a lot less! Also many vegans do not eat chocolate & find that Carob is a good substitute.

No, it is not true, they can eat anything baked as long as there is no animal fats or animal by products in it.
My mom and my nephew are vegan, they eat all kinds of baked stuff (but no dairy or animal based ingredients). They especially love Eggplant parmigiana with soy cheese, and baked ziti. They make dairy free cakes and pies all the time.

i eat too many baked goods... but the ones i eat are made without eggs, dairy, or refined sugar. it's easy to do, and you can eat the batter without worrying about getting sick from raw eggs :)
but yeah, most baked goods that aren't made specifically to be vegan contain animal products, and would not be edible by vegans.

They are forbidden to eat anything tasty or convenient or listed on a menu anywhere. They spend their whole lives saying no to everything instead of saying yes to life. Their wheat contains insects and bugs and many animals die in modern horiculture. They are extremists and are extremely lame.
