I joined Weight Watchers the beginning of this year and have lost 26 lbs to date. I still have 20 to go but know I'll get there. What I have learned from them is you must eat the right things: plenty of fruits and veggies; lean meat; 2 servings of non fat dairy; healthy oils such as olive, canola, sunflower or flaxseed; and drink plenty of water.

Remember to keep your portions small.

And don't forget to move your body. I don't have the time or money to go to a gym so I find time at home or work to walk/jog, roller blade, bike or my eliptical machine.

It's also great to have a support system. If you can't join a group like Weight Watchers then get friends or family in on your plan to help support you with healthy food choices and to get out and exercise with you.

Don't expect the results overnight. Patients and endurance will be the attributes that will payoff.

I am not endorsing Weight Watchers, it's just the thing that has seemed to work for me. Ask others what has worked for them and don't get discouraged because it may take a while to find what will work for you.

Good Luck!

Eat 4-6 small, healthy meals a day. Eat fruit and veggies (no dip) for snacks, and drink only water or iced tea (no sugar). Atleast 8-10 glasses. Also, exercise if possible. The exercise will help you tone up and if you are losing a lot, you won't have as much extra skin when you are finished.

whatever you do, DON'T try diet pills! i've tried so MANY things to lose weight, except diet pills, and i recently tried NutriSystem and it worked wonders!!! the way i see it, the money you spend on grocery shopping a month, could be spent on NutriSystem which is around $300, but it's worth it! it's a month's worth of food! it's already pre-packaged food, u don't have to do any heavy cooking, the most cooking i did was making my pancakes for breakfast using the pancake mix sent, adding milk and cooking. the rest is all set in portions for you, and you eat 5 times a day! with dessert included!!!! just don't cheat while your doing it. and drinks lots of water, a must if you want maximum weight loss results. i wish you the best!

I, too, used Weight Watchers. Since Feb of 05 I have lost 60 pounds. It has been amazing!

I hate exercising... ugh! So, I have learned that simply cutting back on my portions worked for me. I also had to change some of the foods I eat. I never told myself that something was off limits, the minute I did that, I would eat it! Everything in moderation... that is really the key!

Exercise every day, even if it's just a walk. Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Eat fish, eggs, chicken, occasional lean beef or pork, low fat cottage cheese. Stay away from regular cheese, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, peas, beans (except green beans). No fruit and no fruit juice (it's sugar water, my dr says). Cut down on carrots and tomatoes (included ketchup). Use mustard instead of mayonnaise in recipes. Eat lots of salads, green vegetables. Salads only have one tablespoon of dressing for the whole salad. No ice cream, or other desserts. 8 glasses of water a day. No caffeine

Well, I just started taking the TrimSpa pills. Usually, I can't stick with anything. This really seems to be working to fight cravings and I feel full all the time which I believe is keeping me from over eating and emotional eating. Also remember to drink lots of water!
