COPD is an obstruction of air getting into the lungs. The causes can be many. Asthma and bronchitis can cause it. Physical deformity can cause it. The best thing one can do who has COPD is to either sing a lot, or do pursed lip breathing.. sort of like allowing the air to leave your lungs slowly and with resistance. This forces the air to "stretch" the lungs, thus keeping the air sacs of the lungs to stay open better.

oooh, be careful here... Here is a quote from http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_33844.html
May 22 (HealthDay News) -- Compared to men with the same level of disease, women with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) fare worse in terms of the severity of the disease and in quality of life, researchers say.
The finding could help explain the higher death rate among female COPD patients, note investigators from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
COPD results from persistent obstruction of the airways caused by severe emphysema or chronic bronchitis and is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States.
And here is something from Dr J. Frederick Templeman (from a brochure I have on my desk)
"... mangosteen juice intervenes at several points in dthe disease process of COPD/ Its antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal effects can reduce the frequency of lung infections, thereby reducing cummulative tissue damage. As a result, fewer courses of antibiotics are required."

COPD sufferers could desire to drink skinny beverages to help pass secretions and help have a effective cough. Milk could be an irritant to the airlines whether it is drank. there is particularly no longer something incorrect with using it in meals. Skim milk will by no ability be a subject. the subject comes from thick beverages because of the fact it is annoying his airlines which will make him cough greater, increasing airway harm and will boost threat of infections. there is particularly no subject with cooking with milk products.
