genital herpes means that u have got it from having sex; u or ur partner with other partners either before or after marriage. (med student); what u can do is first of all get it treated ; go to the doctor both of u; bc if not treated will develop systemic herpes and cause further complications; other than that make sure u dont have sexually contacts with other partners;
dont panic its not that a big of a deal and happens to millions of people

The only thing that i would say is keep taking your valtrex and it shouldn't affect your sex life. Just remember that if you are not a hand washer, become one because you can infect your children or any one you touch after going to the bathroom while having an outbreak. You can also have an outbreak and not even know it, so be careful. My advice is that you shouldn't be ashamed of having this disease. More people have it than you may realize but just won't tell it.

Well you should both go on proventitive therapy using Valtrex, so you can prevent most if not all future outbreaks and lead a normal life. To the extent that you get an outbreak, refrain from sex during the outbreak becasue you can still provoke an outbreak in the other partner when you are having one, in spite of the fact that they are already exposed and have antibodies in their blood.

You can't make it any worse and you really don't need to take any precautions. Once you have it you will always have it, so you don't need to worry about reinfecting each other or making it worse.
