any advice...i know i have to go to the dr. but what if i do, its hurts so bad.

Well going to the doctor is the first thing you should do, and it sounds like you know that. I got herpes about 5 years ago, I didn't know until I had really painful sores, blisters almost all over my genital area. It hurt so bad to walk or even sit.
When you go to the doctor they are going to give you a physical exam of your genital area and take a swab of the sores. I'm telling you right now it is EXTREMELY painful. I started bawling when my OBGYN did it to me. I don't want that to scare you even more though, because you definitely need to go to the doctor. They will give you a prescription and possibly some cream (I got both). Take your medicines like you are told and it should clear up within a few weeks.
Taking long warm baths helped, and I know this sounds weird but my doctor told me to NEVER dry my genital area with a towel when I'm on a breakout. She told me to use the blow dryer on low and just blow it dry. Also wear some nice soft cotton underwear, that can help with the pain. Even ask your doctor for pain medicine (if they don't give it to you). My doctor gave my a prescription for vicodin.
Luckily herpes isn't deadly, and the longer you have it usually the less breakouts you will get. I get one if that a year.

Don't be scared. Herpes isn't fatal, and you can live with it and still lead a nearly completely normal sex life with treatment. One in four women in the US now have herpes-2, so welcome to the club. I know that sounds like a staggering statistic but that is the latest figure from the CDC.
See a doctor, get it tested for herpes-1 versus herpes-2, or some other condition (since you don't know it is herpes for sure yet). If it does turn out to be herpes, you can go on preventative therapy with Valtrex, which will suppress nearly all future outbreaks.

Did you hook up with someone who had herpes? Go see a doctor... and dont have sex or do anything sexual until you've seen a doctor! Don't pass herpes around!

You need to see a doctor right away.
It'll just get worse if you don't treat it... assuming that there is a problem.
