It's not a vaccine for HPV, it's only a vaccine for four types that cause cervical cancer and genital warts. Cervical cancer is caused by a few types of HPV, but not all! Others cause genital warts and even rectal cancer.

I read that 300,000 woman die a year from cervical cancer! I had no idea! I was diagnosed with cervical cancer from HPV about a year ago. Luckily I caught it in time and was able to treat it.

It's too bad it doesn't help people who already have it, but I'm glad they found something to prevent it!

The new HPV vaccine is nearly 100% effective against the particular strains of HPV that cuase cervical cancer. It is a major breakthrough and has the ability to basically insure that you will never get cervical cancer, assuming you have not already been exposed to one of those HPV strains. By all means get the vaccination as soon as possible.

the hpv vaccine is going to be administered to women from 9-27 years and is most effective if given before being sexually active it is like the chicken pox vaccine it administered a little of the disease so the body can build its own immunity to it. by protecting againt hpv it declines that chances of cervical caner

i think its for women 17-26 yrs, I have that dreaded virus and had surgery for it 2 months ago, I go back 4 check-up in july wish me luck......
