Eating will not lower blood sugar. An insulin injection/dosage of fast acting insulin like Novolog or Humolog should start to lower blood sugar in about fifteen minutes.
Also, excersize is a good way to lower blood sugar, as long as there are no ketones, and there is already insulin in the body.

I have had type 1 diabetes for 39 years. The only ways to lower blood sugar is:
lots of water
exercise IF blood sugar is under 250. if it's above 250, DONT exercise as it will only raise it more
if the blood sugar is over 250, I tend to sleep it off after drinking lots of water and I check the blood sugar at least every 1-2 hours to be sure it's going down
Insulin, fast acting like Regular, Novolog, or Humalog will bring it down
Food will only raise the blood sugar. NO food will lower it.

might need to find out what caused the blood sugar to be high in the first place. I have a friend who is diabetic and could never understand why her blood sugar was high when she went to her doctor appointments but was ok before she left the house. She always had the same routine in that she would go to the store and get a slurpee to drink while she was waiting for the bus to take her to the doctor's office. Hello, those things are pure sugar.

The best NATURAL answer to Diabetes is Bitter Melon.
This vegetable is available in all Philipino markets. I think some Indian grocery shops also have this vegetable.
Wash the vegetable and eat it raw - about half the vegetable per day and check your sugar level after about 4 days - you will see the difference. Of course I must warn you that the taste of it is very unpleasant. Once you know that it is good for you you will come to like it.
I know a person who was injecting insulin daily stopped it after his wife started to crush the vegetable and made him to drink a half cup of this juice daily.
Of course you have to have it raw. Boiling it or cooking it and eating it will have no results.
If you get good results post it as a question in this section so that others will know the value of this vegetable.

Because you don't have diabetes. I don't understand the question. Junk food, sugary food, high-carbohydrate food, etc. do not cause diabetes. What's more, if you don't have diabetes, then your body metabolizes the carbohydrates quickly and effectively, keeping blood sugar levels normal at all times. Why would you see a doctor for your totally normal (not low) blood sugar? You'd see a doctor for your blood sugar if you had high blood sugar or low blood sugar. All I'm seeing here is a totally normal blood sugar response to carbohydrates.

I am insulin dependent now, but if you are a non-insulin dependent you need to consider your what your BGL is...if it is above 300 all you can do is drink lots of water, avoid carbs and keep monitoring your BGL's; once you are below 300 you can do some sort of exercise (whether it be cleaning the house, walking or something more strenuous). You shouldn't exercise if you are above 300 because you are risking you kidney's and eyes amongst other things.
I hated becoming insulin dependent but the advantage is taking a low dose shot of humalog to lower your BGL. If you are insulin dependent you can take a shot to lower your BGL (start with only a couple of units). Not too sure what your carb to unit ratio is but mine is about 1 unit to 15 grams of carb and I take 2 units to lower 50 points. Monitor when doing this so you don't crash. And always carry glucose tablets to increase BGL's.
Good luck.

Firstly, you must get your diabetes in control. Are you wanting to lower it quickly because you're going to an appt soon and you want to trick your doctor? well, your lab work will tell on you. I have been a diabetic for 16 years and i use medication, but natural sweeteners and supplements help me control my blood sugar. Instead of equal or saccharin, i use Stevia in powder or extract form. it's a natural sweetener derived from sweet leaf. i also include natural jelly and HIGH FIBER and soy foods in my meal plans. I strive for at least 10,000 steps a day. quit looking for quick fixes. get your diabetes under control and take care of yourself. my fiance died from complications of diabetes at the young age of 25. please research, eat right, exercise....the investment you make now is worth it.
