I am a vegetarian who eats fish on occasion, which is why I am not a complete vegetarian, but a pesco-vegetarian. I hardly eat it anymore and am getting to the point where I don't think I can anymore, thank goodness. If I do eat it, it is only maybe 3 times a year.

And I also don't eat gelatin, eggs or milk, so except for the fish part, I am more vegan than vegetarian.

There are other terms for vegetarians who eat fish as sarch k mentioned above, but it is known mostly by the name pesco-vegetarian.

and to the other person writing about "there are some vegetarians that drink milk or w/e" well, yes, because Vegetarians eat no meat, but drink cow milk and eat eggs, gelatin, honey, etc.

Which is why I am more pesco-vegan than vegetarian (except for the fish on occasion part).

The correct answer is none; no one who is actually a vegetarian eats fish. Eating fish is not included in the definition of vegetarian. You might have wanted to phrase your question: How many people here who call themselves vegetarians eat fish?

Fish is cold blooded and not meat actually. Some do eat fish but you can get the omega-3 from Flax oil and seed. Salmon is the best for that if you eat fish. The big worry is the Mercury in the fish due to all the toxic waste being dumped in the ocean and you should buy organic for all your food if possible or grow your own.

It's fine if you eat fish, but don't call yourself a vegetarian. It just makes you sound uninformed, or like you failed high school biology. You're a pescatarian if the only animal you eat is fish.

A pesco-vegetarian, semi-vegetarian, pollo-vegetarian (I think I made that one up), etc doesn't mean you're ANY kind of vegetarian. It just means that you don't eat that particular animal/fish.
