My nose and throat feel like a running water tap. Have been taking lots of lemsips and sudafed decongestant. Helps to control slightly but I am still not getting better.

First thing you do is stop eating dairy and wheat. All the symptoms you are experiencing are "intelligent," insofar as they halt the progress of the virus behind these symptoms. However, when we keep introducing immunosuppressive substances the symptoms stay with us as the virus gets the upper hand.

You can take licorice as a natural antiviral, expectorant and soothing herb. You can take collodial silver as an alternative to antibiotics which end up doing more harm than good. You should also take probiotics (not yogurt!), broad spectrum, with at least 10 strains, and that will go along way to support your immunity.

Also, take food grade vitamin C, e.g. Amla C from Pure Planet, LIving C from Garden of Life, etc, because this non-synthetic form will boost your immunity tremendously, as well as boost your body's natural antiviral secretion: interferon.

It might not be a cold if you have had it for 3 weeks then it could be hayfever i would try some hayfever relief tablets like zirteck and a nasel spray, Sudafed doesn't really work as it tends to work for a few hours then when it wears off your sinus block up again with zirtek if works all day and lasts until you take your other tablet. I would book an appiontment at the doctors and he might recommend you a type of hayfever tablet that is best for you. or have a word with the pharmasist at your local chemist.

You need to have a few simple tests ran to find out if what, at one time, was a cold could have possibly turned into an infection, in which case a little Zithromax could have you feeling better in no time at all. Don't listen to the genius up top that asked you to get tested for HIV. Probably not an issue relevant to this question. Three weeks is an awfully long time for a cold. Sure hope you get to feeling better. God Bless

First of all there is no cure for a cold... only cures for the symptoms... You need to try changing your medicains to figure out which meds work best for the strain of virues that you have... different virues are immune to different medication.

But if you are sick from a cold then the only thing you can do is wait it out and control the effects of the cold until your body can overcome it.

It is highly likely that you are suffering from hay fever. Get some local honey and take a teaspoon of it each day. The decongestant is probably causing the funny nose and throat. Try sudafed tablet form. Keep your hair and face well washed, maybe as much as four or five times per day. Go easy on the shampoo. Good luck...................

Water acts as both a decongestant and as a hydrator. My best guess would be that you are not drinking enough water. Remember to drink even more water, especially if you are also drinking caffeinated beverages or if you are dinking alcohol because caffeine and alcohol dehydrate you. The problem is, in my humble opinion, most people just hate to drink water.

The very best thing to do is nasal lavage. You can do this with a netti pot which is available at a health food or natural food store. It is an old Yoga technique and once you get good at it, really works! Good Luck!

Sounds like your immune may be compromised.. Have you had an HIV test lately?

My friend wasn't getting any better - he was so sick... He couldn't figure out what was wrong with himself. He came back positive. He feels great nowadays with all the different drugs he takes

Perhaps you have seasonal allergy instead of a cold. You might try an over the counter antihistamine (benedral, chloratremton, etc.)

Visit your doctor for something stronger and to check it is the common cold.
