In 2004 about 380 thousand African-Americans had AIDS. HIV is not reportable in all jurisdictions, so there aren't current national HIV stats. That should change soon as more jurisdictions are making HIV reportable, and there will be significant changes to HIV epidemiology methodology. Nonetheless, a large portion of HIV+ people are unaware of their infection, so it's hard to get accurate numbers.
