We were getting pretty close, so I told him. After telling him I have done oral sex on him twice. We had intercoure once with a condom. Now he is not sure he wants to deal with it. How do I make him feel protected.

Unfortunately there is no other way to make him feel more protected. You did use a condom and that is about the only way to prevent the spread of it besides abstaining completely. Back off of him and give him time to think about what he wants from a relationship with you and if he even wants to be with you. I suggest joining a few groups of Yahoo that is designed for people with herpes. You can find someone who already has the disease so you dont have to go through a mess like this again.

Here's a great site for Herpes information. It also has a place for a forum for those with Herpes to discuss stuff, such as when/how to tell someone, safer sex when infected with Herpes, etc.

You can't really make him feel any more protected. Just make sure you take precautions. Some people decide they can't deal with it. If that's the case, it's better to try to move on, it will always be a problem in his mind. Find someone who is more able to deal with it.

I agree with Insanatie - that site is wonderful!
If you aren't on a suppressive medication, such as valtrex, famvir or acyclovir, you should consider that.
Also, read the herpes handbook at the link I posted below for more info on herpes and transmission.
There are some great stats on transmission which might help him be more relaxed.

[INSANTIE]. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH HER INFORMATION TO YOU AS WELL AS YOU KNOW THERE ISNT NO CURE FOR HERPIES AT THIS TIME TELL HIM THE TRUTH AND LET HIM DECIDE THAT WAY HE CANT SAY YOU NEVER TOLD HIM ?
