Obviously some people don't know what strict vegan is or you wouldn't get told to eat fish huh? LOL
There are lots of natural sources of protein without getting animal sourced food. You get a complete protein from yams believe it or not. No, not the candied sweet potatoes in a can, but a real yam. Bake it like a potato or mix it in to a stir fry. You also get protein from dark green vegetables like kale, spinach, broccoli, brussell sprouts and more! Of course you know most nuts make a great protein source too. I like to sprinkle sunflower seeds on my salads, or cashews in my stir fry yummm! Beans are also a great protein source. I like to use black beans in my salads, stir Fry's, and Mexican food. However most beans will do so find your favorite! Just watch out for the re-fried ones, most of the time those have pork flavoring in them. Tofu is made from soybeans and a great meat substitute in any meal. Also watch for wheat meat which is another meat substitute that is textured like chicken.
Just as a side note, Americans are protein obsessed as a way of rationalizing their over meat consumption. The percent of protein we actually need as the average person is about 1/4 of what most people take in on an average day. So don't obsess too much on the protein, your probably doing better at balancing your diet than most meat eaters!

Almost everything has protein in it. It's nearly impossible not to get enough. A vegan veggie burger, depending on brand, can have 11 grams of protein in it. Americans on average get way too much protein due to the obsession with eating meat at every meal.

Google "Vegan protein sources" and see what you come up with.

1/2 cup of beans has the same amount of protein as a serving of steak. Whole grain pasta is a good source of protein and many other nutrients as well. It's very easy to get enough.

Whoever suggested whey is crazy- whey is not a vegan product! And I quote: "whey- The watery part of milk that separates from the curds, as in the process of making cheese." I won't even acknowledge the people who posted about fish and eggs!

I get a lot of my protein from soy sources, but I also consume a lot of nuts and seeds, as well as high-protein grains like quinoa, assorted beans and legumes, and high-protein vegetables like spinach and broccoli. I look for pastas and cereals that are enriched with soy for an extra boost of protein.

I get most of my protein via soy. Buy soy milk that has extra nutrients added to it. I also use soy protein powder since I make smoothies. Soy yogurt. Beans. Almonds. Peanut Butter. I don't use tofu much at all. But I do buy some soy based hamburger and make regular "meat" dishes that most ppl use hamburger for. It's not that hard to get all the protein. Shop in an organic store.

soymilk is definitely the best...it can be your new best friend

and I will tell you what, there for a while I was using powder protein, vanilla flavor, and making shakes with it, and it was the best shake EVER!

1 scoop of soy protein powder=20 grams of protein!

I would freeze a cup of soymilk in the freezer, not completely frozen, but sort of, add it to my blender, add a banana, 3 frozen strawberries, 2 scoops of protein powder (sometimes just 1), and ALSO I would add 2 tablespoons of chocolate malt Ovaltine and blend it all up, and oh me, it was heaven!

You should try it! OMGee you will fall in love!
