AIDS is a combination of so many symptoms caused by HIV virus.so AIDS does nt mutate but HIV virus mutates.tho it does mutates,it can change only a part of its properties that too which make them stonger to survive.If they mutated so that they could survive in air,they would have created a major disaster for us.usually they die on explosure to air.

AIDS doesn't mutate because simply it is group of syndromes, HIV could mutate, it is a life being, but thinking of that there are many types of infections that are more deadly than HIV infection but we cant get them because treatment is been discovered, but they can mutate!!!
We are life being, and we can mutate to a level that this diseases could not harm us, so don't think too much and just protect your self as needed!!!!!

AIDS is not the name of the virus but it means Aquired Immune Deficinecy Syndrome and the causative organism is the HIV (Human Immune defiency Virus).
