After I got mine removed I came home that day and was like "wow that was nothing! I feel fine!" I was eating normal and drinking normal. Then like the 2nd night I felt like my throat was literally on fire! I couldn't eat anything and could hardly drink. The only thing that helped me was some cool fluids like Gatorade and even a little jello. I didn't drink anything hot, my throat was already on fire, and freezing cold stuff like ice cream didn't feel good either. Keep pushing the fluids, it's really the only thing you can do, and make sure you finish your antibiotics. I was still feeling like crap 4-5 weeks after getting them removed. It's going to take a while to feel 100% better. Good luck!

The only thing you HAVE to do is drink tons of fluids. Other than that, eat what is comfortable for you. My 5 year old son had his tonsils and adenoids taken out over christmas break last year and did great. He is absolutely addicted to pizza, and he wanted pizza hut buffet the day after surgery so I took him. He didn't have a problem at all! He ate whatever he wanted from day one, including potato chips! The doctor said as long as he could tolerate it to let him eat what he wanted, and he did. Every person is going to be different though so go at your own pace. If regular foods are uncomfortable at first, try popcicles, jello, applesauce, etc., but do not eat ice cream or yogurt (or any dairy products) for the first couple of days. The milk in them is not recommended.

Go on a liquid diet.. Campbells soup is concentrated.. (yet cheap, but concentrated enough for toncils), so eat that, ice cream, and
Ensure, and suck it up and drive on for a week... it's not that bad.

talk low and eat very soft food until you feel better. Ice cream, Jell-o and things like that are best. I hope you feel better.
