Well, that's happened to me many times before, as I'm sure it has for most others here. I usually feel uncomfortable giving out my number to someone I don't know at all. This probably sounds awful, but if I'm feeling cornered, I'll give him a slightly fake number (maybe one digit off).
I like it much better when a man gives me HIS number - written down, with a message like "Please call if you'd like to meet." That way, I feel no pressure...and I will call if I'm interested.

Ask for his don't give him yours. That way if you feel like calling you have that option on the other hand if you were to give him your number he has more of the upper hand.
