I'm very mad, everytime i leave my shoes by my closet, it ends up in my dog's cage. Why is he messing with my shoes? It is easy for him to get it, because i don't have a door to my closet nore to my room, sence ma dad is fixing it. What do you think i should do? And everytime he gets ahold of it, it ends up right in his cage. I think he gets out of his cage in the middle of the night and do this, he is a very smart dog! One day i might put hot sauce all over my shoes, lol

He just love you, buy him a toy and show him your shoe and say no, give him a toy and say yes. Do it few times so he understand that. They do learn you know!

Is he taking anyone elses shoes? If he is not chewing the shoes, maybe he is just trying to get something that reminds him of you. We sometimes take pictures of people that we want to be reminded of, as we tend to favor our visual sense. Dogs favor their sense of smell so maybe he is bringing a dog's version of a photograph into his cage, which is something with your scent on it. I know it sounds strange. After we adopted our dog from a shelter, he started to experience separation anxiety. We were told to put one of our pillows or blankets in the crate with our dog, so he could smell us when we were not home. Another thing your dog may be doing is challenging your position in your pack (your family). IF this is the case, you will need to show him that as far as your pack is concerned he is lower ranking than you. Their are many ways to do this. When you are eating, make him leave the room, when you go into a room - make him sit and wait until you enter and then do no let him decide when to enter the room - you tell him when to enter, don't let him sleep on your bed etc. Their are many ways to show him that you are higher ranking than he is in your pack. Check with a behavior specialist in your area for more hints on how to do this. Good luck.

Ask your parents to buy a product called Bitter Apple and put that on your shoes instead of hot sauce.

Why dont you find an old pair of shoes for him to claim. Put yours away so he cant reach them and put the other pair where he can reach them. He is playing. He is a typical dog. Just exchange the shoes.

I have tried bitter apple before, but some dogs are not bothered by it. Do like me, set your shoes at a higher point. Now the only time my dogs like to mess with my shoes is when I have them on. He likes to grab the finger loop on my shoe to play tug. When they are off it doesn't mess with them.

Crates have doors, shut the door. If you don't want to do this, put your shoes on top of your dresser. He thinks that your shoes are a great toy, smells just like his owner.

the sweat in your shoes gives your dog a calm satisfaction when you are not with him.some people knowingly keep their shirt or as in your case shoes in the dog's cage to keep them calm when they are away.
if your dog doesn't destroy your shoes then there is no cause for you to worry.there is no need for you to put hot sause all over your shoes.
keep it cool yo
