My doggie was sick and wouldn't eat, drink, nor have bowel movememts. He was slowly nutured bacl to his own self. Of course he felt like a king, he was given canned food, went for rides to his favorite poddie spots, and was even given water with a dropper. He needed that treatment. However, he is better and still wants the same attention. He was more stubborn than a mule before he got sick. Now, he is on strike and refuses to do what he is supposed to do. Do you know how to get him to loose that stubborn strea?

That's a tough one! You'll have to just retrain the little one to accept the same love & attention puppy got before he was sick. When he begs for more treats & attention, just walk away & ignore him. Remember that his major motivator is your love & attention. When he realizes he can get this by being a good doggie, he'll be back to normal eventually (since he's stubborn, it'll take a while). Give him lots of positive reinforcement (pets & "good boy" affirmations) when he does a good thing. It'll take patience on your part - probably take a couple weeks of consistent re-training.

Yes, ignore his bad behaviour. Treat him like the dog he is. Lock him up where he can do little damage. Only let him out when he has finished what he's supposed to eat.

Be firm and do not give in.
