The main purpose is to worship God and and act as his reigns on earth. God disposes all our live on earth according to what He decides for us. He showed the right and the wrong paths and asked us through the messengers he sent since the creation of Adam till Prophet Mohammad, to worship Him only.
In reality no happiness is matched with worshiping God. Live becomes meaningful and interesting by becoming near to God and in the contrary, vague and meaningless. Spiritual satisfaction is much better than acquiring all world desires, wealth and power at one time. The day you feel that there is a Powerful God who observes all your deeds, hopefully the good, you will feel that life have got a meaning.

By your question I am assuming that you are asking in regards to this sequence or age in the life cycle in which the time element is a factor and not the entire life cycle. Based upon my assumption I will answer with the following:

In my opinion there is only one purpose to life which is to accept or reject the constantly consistent truth that was, is and always will be. Since all is in a two-fold and a three fold such can be seen as accept it for one [1] fold, reject it for the second [2] fold, and do nothing about it for the third [3] fold. However by design the third ford is likened unto the second fold and has the same results by this election. This is because there are of course 3 options but only two destinations available after this age or sequence.in the life cycle where time is a factor. This time factor is in place of course because of a pending act or action that must be completed which is of course the decision and the consequence of the decision being put into place.

If my assumption was wrong and you are asking about life itself, then my answer will be of course different. If it is life itself then my opinion must be to give Honor and Glory to the controller and originator of life itself which in my words I call My God. Again in my opinion this originator [My God} did in fact Honor Himself and did Glorify Himself by sharing life with other lesser entities for this very purpose.

I do not know if I did answer your question in a satisfactory nature as far as you are concerned but I did try with my opinion. It does work for me but of course you are entitled to your own opinion.

Just smile because you did make me think about your question some thus you did at least cause a reaction by posting it. I do thank you for that.

The main purpose in life is to have a life serving God, and His will.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.
Rom 8:30 But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32 Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Rom 8:33 Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God who justifies.
Rom 8:34 Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also who is raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, "For Your sake we are killed all the day long. We are counted as sheep of slaughter."
Rom 8:37 But in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We are born (no choice) we live and we die (no choice)
Only one of those do we have a choice in-our main purpose in life is to live
We live to contribute toward continuance (no choice)
So make the most of the one choice you do have (how you live)

Each soul is potentially divine.
The goal is to manifest this divinity within, by controlling nature, external and internal.
Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy - by one, or more, or all of these - and be free.
This is the whole of religion. Doctrines, or dogmas, or rituals, or books, or temples, or forms, are but secondary details.

the truth is simply to have an everlasting life.

preserve your own bloodline by practicing "Jesus" (-not being view as a person) - not a name, it is a word, it is the way of life.

thus your next generation of bloodline will benefit and reach the highest form of perfection of being human and learn the truth to have the real control to one's life.

the first key is to learn the truth through knowing thyself, then "it will set us free"-when the mind learns the truth and capable to control, the body will follows. it's not something you think, its not about religion, its a state of mind. its not being right or wrong, it's simply just all about the truth.

God said your purpose of life is to live.
And the way you are living is your religion.
And God wants to to live your life according to his way.
Submission to the will of God.
