She's a Long legged parson Jack russle Terrier and no, it's not mange or a thorn. Her pads aren't cracked and her legs are just fine. I can not work it out!

She's not old, she's only 4. I can't take her to the vets, for the reason that she's dieing from it so I don't want to waste the vets time. We live on a farm though, is some kind of virus or bug she might have picked up??

My Dog is NOT suffering. She's in no pain, she runs after rabbits and foxes fine, it's only when she's not chasing rabbits or foxes that she limps. She's NOT dieing, I missed the word NOT out first time round by a mistype. I am not neglegting my dog. I only asked here instead of the vets because she's not in pain. If she was in pain the vet would here no end of it until she's fine again. It's a little thing that I don't why it's happening. Don't any of you DARE to EVER say again that i EVER negleglet ANYTHING.

If she's limping she's in pain. Taking a dog that needs treatment to a vet is certainly not "wasting the vets time". Why would you let your dog limp around for months without seeing a vet? Sheesh!

Well ya sound like an idiot!!!! If it was going on this long, she should have seen a vet. If you know she is dying (that is how you spell it....try that spell check button...) then a vet would have had to tell you she is dying from it. It doesn't sound like that is what has gone on. It sounds like you are too cheap to see a vet and are thinking it may get better on it's own or she will eventually die from it. If a vet told you she had a condition and would die from it, you wouldn't be asking us what is wrong with the dog!!!!!!!!!
Stop being cheap and get the dog to the vet. If you do not want to do all kinds of tests, put the dog to sleep so it isn't suffering. That is pretty cruel to let her go that long with some unexplained medical condition!!!!!!!!
You ARE a total loser!!!!!!! What the hell do you think limping is???????? It is not bearing weight on a leg because it HURTS!!!!! Dogs do not limp because they feel one of the legs needs a rest!!!!!!!! They limp because they are in some kind of pain!!!!! They are not like humans. They can be in pain yet still chase something. The fact that you have let it go on because you think she is NOT dying just points to your stupidity!!! That is a GREAT reason to not see a vet!!!!
I fear that there is no help for you and therefore no help for the dog. Too bad you weren't limping for 5 months.....but it isn't like you would be in any pain right?!!!!!!

My puppy was limping on his front legs also the other week. It didn't stop him from playing and doing everything he usually does. After a few days I did take him to the vet because I wasn't able to fund a thorn or anything in his paws. It turned out to be a pulled mussel in his shoulder. The vet gave me some mussel relaxers for him that he took for 10 days and the limping has stopped. I'm very grateful I took him. If i would you, I'd take the dog to the vet just to ensure it's not something serious. If she is limping she's uncomfortable but al lot of dogs will continue business as usual. I don't believe your neglectful at all, but do have it addressed. Good luck and I hope she better soon.

Put a sharp pebble in one of your shoes and walk around on it for a whole day.
The SPCA would say that legally, you are neglecting this dog. It would have been reasonable to wait a week and see if it cleared up. 5 months is not reasonable.
If you cannot afford vets bills there are charities that will help with the cost.
Dogs limp for the same reason you do; they are in pain. She has been in pain for 5 months on both front legs. Jack Russells can switch off pain when they are hunting.
We are not vets and are legally unable to give you veterinary advice. Even a vet cannot diagnose your dog over the internet or from a brief description. It could be anything from tendonitis to bone cancer. Anything mild would have cleared up by now.
It makes no difference where you live, your dog needs a vet.
To put your mind at rest, your vet won't report you. They may give you a mild rebuke, such as "I wish you had brought her to see me sooner" but that's all.

its probably something silly if ur dogs not in any pain. When i was young, we had a dog that often limped...usually so one of us mugs would pick her up and carry her so she didnt have to walk! it could never have been anything to bad as she lived till just before her 21st birthday! My mum & dad had a west highland terrier that done this 2! the 1st time i took him to the vets because of his limping, the vet couldnt find any thing wrong but as he was still limping after a few days i took him back, it turns out that rarely, because westies have what my vet classed as web like paws (where the fur covers the paw not each singular toe!) sometimes they can get the shoots/seeds from the grass stuck in their paw and cos the fur covers the entire 'toe' section, the dog cant get it out where as usually the dog will bite and clean the area the grass seed has got stuck, eventually gettinr it out of its paw! sounds pretty mad i know....and even though my vet said it didnt happen often, my mums dog managed to get the seeds stuck in both front paws!!
people that maintain that ur dog is suffering should think before they answer ur question really....if u were inconsiderate or not worried about ur dog, to let it suffer-why would u ask for advice on yahoo! answers!! bloody idiots!!
Good luck! xx

Examine the foot carefully, it could be a laceration or a bruise or a thorn that fell out, check carefully in-between the pads. Just because you don't see something doesn't mean nothing is there, it could be a soft tissue injurie.
Give here some time and watch her, she might have bruised a pad, if so in a day our two it will heal.
If it get worse or not any better then she should go to a vet for an x-ray. Don't put anything on it.

If you had a child that was suffering like this would you have gone this long without seeking medical advice?
Because she is a dog, the breed i.e. Parson Jack Russell doesn't matter one way or the other, you seem to think it is alright to neglect her.
The most you are prepared to do is sit at your keyboard and ask people who you don't know from Adam and probably have no qualifications to make wild guesses at what might be wrong with her.
If you've watched her suffer for four months and still don't know what is wrong how is someone who has not seen her supposed to come up with a diagnosis?
Allowing her to go on like this is causing unnecessary suffering and if you were traceable you should be prosecuted.

She has had this for five months, she has been in pain all of that time, and you do not want to take her to the vet because she is dieing from it? That does not sound right to me.
Why didn't you take her to the vet a couple of weeks after the symptoms began? She has suffered this long? You do not know for sure that she is dieing? Who knows, perhaps a vet could just help her in one visit? My spaniel was in extreme pain and could barely walk. When she went to the vet, all he did was give her and injection and the pain and symptoms were gone. She lived for six years after and never suffered from that pain again. Could you please just take her to the vet one more time to make sure that she is dieing? If she is in pain, shouldn't the suffering stop? If you had chronic pain, wouldn't you go to your vet, doctor?
Sorry that you are suffering with her.

Dogs only limp when they are in pain. The fact that your dog is a terrier and is so tough she doesn't whine or moan doesn't mean she's not in pain. Many things can cause limping and you've already checked for as many as you can on your own (like ticks and burrs and cracked pads). Now, it's time for a vet.

Sounds like arthritis to me. And a dog does not have to be old to have it. I had a 2 year old dog with it once.
She could have just landed wrong jumping down off something.
Why would you think it was wasting the vets time? That is what they are for. If you feel there is a problem call the vet and have it checked. For goodness sake, your pet's health is important. Who cares what the vet thinks!
