The hussein trail is a farce as he is being charged for supposed war crimes
by the people he committed the crimes for(americans) who are now committing the same war crimes all over the world.
The government does not want it in the media as it might lead to many questions that have to be answered about their own actions.

Ever since the war support increased, the Saddam trial also became un interested at all. Because in FACT many countries still does consider Saddam as Iraqi's president. It will be ONLY Iraqi court without U.S affiliations and interferences which can trail Saddam.

Saddam was turned over to the Iraqi government for trial. Like all 'capital offense' trials it is taking a long time. One of the reasons for this it because the Iraqis want to make sure that they do everything right and he cannot get released on appeal because of a procedural error.

He's still on trial, but the US is not the one trying him. He is being tried by the UN. And it's the media that decides what you hear, not the government. They think other stories will get better ratings, so they've stopped reporting on his trial so much.
The link is a story from June 5th about his trial.

The trial is still ongoing. However media coverage has dropped off since the court case is long and boring and in Arabic, which most people in the West don't understand.
When the verdict is due there will be fresh coverage.

His trial is still going. The media decides what you do or don't hear about, not the government.
