That Taiwan poster is off topic, but... the world is not & never will be a utopia. There are & will always be violent wars somewhere in the world every day of every year for all time. We'll be there if/when China decides to take Taiwan, because it's the right thing to do. In 20 years, looking back on what Iraq eventually becomes after we've left, you'll see that our sacrifice there will have changed the region & the world for the better.
As to the original question. I'm sorry for your situation. There are several websites out there that are fairly accurate, but a bit slow in updating. lynda_vosbein there seems your best direct access point, or you can search & email the kid directly yourself.

I live in Taiwan, I think the war of Iraq is really a big mistake.
Another failed war done by USA since the war in Vietnam.
Too many people died without any good reason... And it's still a chaos there in Iraq, US soilders getting killed and Iraq soilders being abused. Or soilders losing their mind becoming psyche. Can't face stress and having a family in the future...
It's happening for everyday. I mean the pityfull situation between the US and Iraq.
Where is peace? Is peace really like that in Iraq?
I think it's already in time to reflect and change everything.
Technology is improving but people's minds are be ruined. We are too far from where the world is supposed to be. A situation where people love each other and peaceful daily living is.
God bless u and everyone in Iraq. I hope you can find your nephew and see him come back in healthy.

first off.. to the poster who posted an OFFICIAL secure email address of a person that is NOT them.. you just violated PERSEC and have have broken the law by doing so.
To the Questioner: If his son listed him as a next of kin, your brother would be notified if he had been injured or killed. But my guess is, after 16 years of no contact, he didn't. There is no way he can LEGALLY obtain that information unless he was willing to pay for a search or contact his ex wife.

here is a good database site to check, plug in "name" + other fields at the bottom - this is a reliable site for finding soldiers that have died for our country
