1. the wavelength of light is 589 nm (nano metre). wat is its orde of magnitude in metre???????( 1 nano mtre = 10 to the power of minus 1. ) i need the working and can u pleae explain too. i`ll be really thankful!

2. the radius of a hydrogen atom is 0.5 angstrom. find the order of magnitude of volume of (a) one hydrogen atom, (b) 1 mole hydrogen. given that 1 mole of hydrogen has 6.02 multipled 10 power of 23 hydrogen atoms.
(hint- volume = 4/3 pie r cube (r is the radius))

i need to know how to do it with working!!!

hello........nano is -9......

nano meter is 10 power -9 meter.......

1.

so 589 nm = 589 x 10^(-9) m...........

centi meter = 10^(-2) meters....

milli meter = 10^(-3) meters.........so on

hexa = 16
peta = 15
tera = 13
giga = 9
mega = 6
kilo = 3
exo = 2
deca =1
deci = -1
centi = -2
milli = -3
micro = -6
nano = -9
pico = -12
femto = -15
atto = -16

2.

a) radius = 0.5 angstrom = .5 x1 x 10^(-10) meters

so , volume of one atom = (4/3) x pi x (radius cubed)

= 4/3 x (3.14) x (.5x10^(-10))^3

= 5.23598 x 10^(-31) meter cube

b) just multiply ans of a) by 6.02 x 10^(23)

= volume of one atom x no of atoms

=5.23598 x 10^(-31) x 6.02 x 10^(23)

= 3.15206 x 10^(-7) meter cube
