Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, I am looking for a serious answer to this. I am not asking this to piss people off. How could a God, being infallible, create a beautiful angel, that becomes the ultimate evil? Being infallible and knowing all, he would have had to know that the devil would rebell. To know this and create him purpously would be purpously creating evil. To purpously create evil, would make you evil yourself. Doing all this, yet telling all that you are all loving and peaceful, is Hypocritical. And being hypocritical, makes you fallible. Can anyone give a viable explanation for this?

Simple answer:

Let me try to give you an analogy for such a complex topic as God's omnipotence and angel/human free will:

Suppose you were going to have 5 children and you knew that 2 of them would be evil and 3 of them good. Would you deny life to the 3 that will be good just to prevent the 2 that will be evil?

Reading the Bible you come to only one basic conclusion about God and free will; giving free will to any being will guarantee that that being or beings will eventually sin. It's inescapable. God could have decided to just not create anything knowing that giving free will to humans and angels would produce evil beings, but that would be unfair to others that are not evil and want to be with God. God decided that it was worth giving angels and humans free will, knowing it would produce evil beings, because the value of the good beings outwieghed the suffering caused by the evil ones.

The Bible says God created angels and humans and gave them free will, which necessarily allowed for the possibility that they could reject God and do evil. They of course still had the free will to choose God and be good. It's not God's fault if a free will being rejects Him and does evil, that was their own choice, God didn't make them do it. It's no more God's fault than the parents of a man 30 years old that killed a baby. The man is old enough know what he did and is accountable for his own actions. The same goes for angels and humans.

If God was really like you want Him to be, than you would have to live by your own standards. For example, that would mean that if we could tell who was going to be evil and who good by doing a simple test before a child is born, would you go around prematurely killing unborn babies before they even had the chance to commit any evil yet?!

I hope this answered your question and helps.

Yes – the answer is surprisingly easy – though the question takes many other more difficult to answer forms.

The easy answer to the easy question you ask is that the story you relate is not a true story. The story of the fall of Satan is not recorded in canonized scripture, it DOES appear in the apocrypha, but it does not appear in the canon – and for a reason – it is not good theology.

However, the hard answer to the hard question you ask is what theologians refer to as the “Problem of evil.” Essentially it works like this:

How can an all good, all knowing, all powerful God create / allow evil to exist?

There are two viable ways to approach this question; the first is to simply deny evil – to say that evil does not exist, we, as humans, only label things as evil because we do not understand their fuller implications. This is moderately satisfying, but it still leaves me somewhat wanting a better answer when I hear about a bus load of children plunging over a cliff for no apparent reason and I find my self at a way to understand this as anything but evil.

The second way to answer the problem of evil is to say that the omnipotent God did not create evil, but that humans, through our free will, and as our status as created co-creators, are the ones who created evil. God merely tolerates evil as a consequence of our foolish actions.

We all struggle with this question from time to time.

First of all God created angels and humans with a freedom and a mind of there own. He did not create us to be drones or robots with to simply obey without question or thought. Just like you or I have a choice to serve God or not.

Second there has to be a reference of good to evil. Either one can not be measured without the other.

Third since when did being loving and peaceful become defined as being a doormat with love comes discipline and with peace one has to stand up to what is right.

My response is definitely not a well-known one nor a popular idea either. However, since you ask... (in a nutshell) as a student of "A Course In Miracles" the answer to this question is that God didn't. God is not responsible for any of this -the manifest world is a deceptive illusion, albeit a pretty convincing one, conjured up by the collective mind of man. And the Son of God (Jesus) was simply the original individual who awakened to this fact.

Good cannot exist without evil.

However, the fact that there are other religions that have their own perception of good and evil, means that belief in all these is just a spiritual issue, with no physical substance whatsoever. There is no universal truth about creation (?) of good and evil. Therefore, don't get confused! It's all about balance.

(God just got bored, I reckon).

PS: Believe blindly? Are we still in the middle ages? September 11th is what happens when people believe blindly. In anything.

These assumptions about god is based on the bible I don't think anyone knows the true nature of God. If the bible is true then God is fallible and has a lot of human qualities and faults. Personally I'll worry about this life while I'm here and worry about the afterlife when i get there.

God wanted to test human being, he wants to see if we human can remain on the right path, lets us say you have an opportunity to earn money by cheating, what would you do, cheat or leave the money, if you take the money you are the worshipper of devil, but if you don't then you worship god. Believe devil has a big part to play in the world drama.

yes there is the truth! the Bible reveals that God is faithful and just. he made all of creation. and in his foreknowledge he knew who would sin or that lucifer would change to satan or the adversary. but God didn't make him the devil he made him an archangel lucifer and called him the anointed cherub but lucifer was given a free will that is what makes God just he gave all a free will to choose whether or not to serve him. and if so satan chose to go the evil way. now he is responisble soley for all the evil. but God has given his creation weapons against the attacks of satans evils of poverty all sickness and disease and tragedy. God gave us the power of the Holy Spirit the armor of God the name of Jesus and the authority. besides that Jesus already defeated satan!

The option for evil is important.
Without it we wouldn't appreciate good, we wouldn't be able to choose good (we would just be on a default setting) and it would be immoral for God to only allow us to follow Him.
Suffering in the world is awful, but in the next life it will all be forgotten, so it isn't as important as it seems.

That is one GREAT thing about our creator. He give us the tools to not only enjoy the life afforded to us, but also the freedom to choose what kind of life we lead. As we are probably in the kindergarten of existance, it is important, I think, to take a road that is contrary to chaos. Live by the goodness of the heart and use your mind to it's fullest. It can be tough out sometimes, but there is much satisfaction to be derived from goodness.
