You didn't mention the sex , that does have a bearing.
There are several things that is could be ranging from relatively minor to the serious, but all need to be checked by someone with the necessary education and tools to isolate the problem.

Only 6 months probably too young for a stone, but it is growing and its own growth could have pinched off the canal.
Really a vet is your only choice.
Until you get in keep a very careful eye on him and make sure he gets plenty of water.
The vet Will want to know how much the pup is drinking, surprise hm and tell him...put a measured amount of water in a a bowel, wait a given number of hours and measure what is left. Subtract that from what you poured in the bowel and that is what he drank. Keep a record of the water and food consumption, if he stops eating, starts throwing up then emergency, as is try to get in on Monday or sooner.

It is important to call the vet at the first signs of difficulty in urinating or defecating. Also, when your pup refuses to eat/drink that is another cause for concern.

The website below includes a list of questions that you should be able to answer, should the vet ask.

There could possibly be a urinating infection or the like, so get the vet. I'm sure you have shown his potty spot, right? I don't think it would work though, but give it a try.

You need to get your puppy to the vet. He/she probably has an infection. It may also be something more serious so it is best that you get to the vet as soon as possible. If your puppy is not urinating it is probably very uncomfortable for him/her.

Your pup needs a vet now. Not Monday, not tomorrow, now. A pup that can't pee needs immediate help. What ever the reason it can't urinate it is a very dangerous situation.

Hi,
This is not just one of those 'easy remedy' problems. Rather not take a chance, take the pyppy to a vet.

I agree with Renee- probably a UTI. Get it checked out asap. They will do a quick lab test, and antibiotics for dogs is pretty cheap.

Have you checked to see that someone hasn't pulled his "lipstick" out and tied it in a knot? That is a possible cause!
