Your parents probably assume that the two of you have been...lets say, "active"...and while they aren't trying to sabotage every chance you get to be with him, they certainly don't want to be the enablers in case you bend the "rules" and hook up in the laundry room!

#1 They want a good nights sleep, which is hard knowing your daughter's boyfriend is in the next room.

#2 Do you want people calling you a slut just because your boyfriend stayed at your house, even if nothing happened? They are looking out for your reputation. RESPECT THEM AND YOURSELF FOR THEIR DECISION.

He can spend the night with one of his guy friends if he's afraid to stay by himself or go with his parents.

Have you ever heard the saying "It's a good idea to know the rules, that way you can break them properly"?

It doesn't matter that you say you know the rules, what matters is that your parents don't know if you will follow them or not. It also matters whether your parents know your boyfriend well or not. They don't want you potentially making a mistake and winding up pregnant.

Because you are a young girl and he is a young guy. Any parent who would trust their kids in a situation are clearly morons who are more concerned about being their kids "friend" rather than being their parent. Your parents clearly are on the right track. Give them a hug and thank them for having the moral backbone and intellectual conviction to be your parent rather than your friend.

Heck, when I was younger my parents never minded if my boyfriend stayed overnight. The only thing was - he had to sleep between mom and dad!
