The Japanese Straighten Perm really works... I get mine done every 6-8 months... Yes, it last that long... There is no such thing as "Permanent Straight Perm". But 6-8 months is the best you can you do... And only go to Asian salons because they are cheaper. The American salons will probably charge you $500 for Medium length and $800-1000 if you have very long hair. But the Asian ones will only charge you about $200-300.

Trust me it's worth it... I know, my hair is naturally wavy too.... But ever since I discover this back in 2000, I get it done every 6 months... It all depends on your hair type and thickness... If your hair is thin and healthy, it should last about a year.... So, $300 per year and you never have to sit there and "blow dry" your hair straight or use straighten iron... well, that my friend, saves you lots of time and money already...... I mean, a good hair straightener already cost about $100. So, you do the math...... Trust me, that's why it's called the "Magic Perm"..... I can't live without it....

I used to have mine chemically straighten (the opposite of a perm) and it would cost me at least $300 about every 3-4 months. It also took like 4 hours! There is also the Japanese straightening that can cost over $1000 depending on how long your hair is (that's what my stylist said anyway). I never got that, there is no way I would pay that much.

And to be honest with you, it never really worked for me. I still had to blow dry it, and straighten it with a flat iron every day. It's not really worth the time or the money.

If I were you I would just use a good flat iron unless you really want to try the chemical straightening and have the money for it. Good luck!
