You bet, back to back, I agree. It is hard to comprehend how people can react so fiercely, with such lack of sense, and ignorance to a novel, a book. My best guess is they (both religious and atheists) are very uncertain of their beliefs, and therefore, attack without any 'principles'. It sort of reminds me of the Orson Wells radio show chaos. But back then people did not have instant access to info like we do, so I still remain baffled by the actions and reactions of people towards the 'novel/book' The DaVinci Code. Lighten up. people, in more ways than one!!!! Pun intended!

I don't understand why Christians are getting so upset about the DA Vinci Code and the movie.
If you are strong in our faith this movie should not affect you or your belief.
If you are seeking religious knowledge this should open your eyes to other possibilities instead of the same old stories day in and day out.
I find it hard to believe that a healthy teen man went through his entire life without having sex with at least one woman.
There are other things that are not explained in the bible that learned men and women are having a hard time understanding and believing things that are written in the bible.
I don't think people have proof of anything except the fact there is another concept for each of us to take a look at. That should be a good thing.
Do you think the bible is fiction? Who do you think the bible was written by?
I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

I don't think it's a waste of time. Not in that sense. No more than it's a waste of time to watch a movie (other than the Da Vinci Code). But you are right. It has gotten terribly out of hand. Much like the way some Christians use the Left Behind series to back up their beliefs. Looks like everyone is grasping for straws, doesn't it?

I' ve heard it's a good book & nobody has proof that things in the bible are true. I'm glad it was written because it gives us more than 1 side of the matter but they prabably took it WAY 2 FAR. The best thing to do is not doubt & criticize other religions then people w/ different beliefs won't comment ur religuos beliefs ,

The purpose of a book or movie is to make money. So it is no more awaste of time than your job. I doubt there are any who said they will never go onto a church again due to the movie. That is what the Church thought about teaching that the earth rotates around the sun-- that it would destroy the church.
They still think that about the teaching of evolution.

There is nothing about the Da Vinci code that is demonstrably more fictional than the New Testament itself, other than the category it belongs to in a book store.

I agree completely. The Da Vinci Code is a load of crap. It is just another way to distance people from the truth. It is a Catholic thing anyway. They usually don't know their Bible anyway, so it is easier to confuse them. It is a lie based on Catholic "mythology" which is also a lie. However since the world equates the Catholic church with the church that Jesus established, its all the same to them.

Ohh man . . . All I can say is that people change they MINDS dont . . and heres a little something that I think . . all Christians should know too . .
“I never cease being dumbfounded by the unbelievable things people believe.” - Leo Rosten
Dear All,
We all the movie, "The Da Vinci Code" starring Tom Hanks, directed by Ron Howard is soon to be released. BLAH BLAH BLAH . . .
As per the email below all I would like to do is to bring to your attention what “REAL CHRISTIANS” are.
If you think that this movie will deceive millions of the worlds population, then I ask you one question. “Who are you to make this speculation”? Are the Christians of the whole world so weak is our faith so “THIN” that a mere movie such as this will have a drastic affect on our lives,
“Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help you create the fact.”
And if your answer is “YES” then you my friends are not Worthy of being called Christians because all of you are forgetting the main point, the Backbone of our “Faith” and that is to “BELIEVE”
Our belief in God, our belief in Jesus Christ, our belief in the Bible should be so “STRONG” that things like this should just be dusted of as if it were dust.
And if you believe that your “FAITH” is strong, yet you still ask this question, then I ask you this “What is the difference between you and the Apostle Thomas”?
If you recall St. Thomas did not believe the other Apostles when they told him that Jesus had risen, in fact he said “Until I don’t see him myself, by my very own eyes and put my fingers into his wounds will I not believe that Jesus Christ has risen”
We all know what happened after that, now don’t we.
My friends I don’t mean to sound like a PAGAN here, but look at this matter LOGICALLY. Look at this matter in REALITY.
So what if “Dan Brown” wrote that book, So what if “Ron Howard” directed the movie based on the book itself. Its all Fiction !!!!
“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” – Voltaire
Since when have we all had a problem with Friction movies, huh . . . NEVER . . Rite . . .
So my Friends . . . This matter cannot be resolved by having the movie banned. Most countries are showing it England is one of them Philippines is the second.
We all might get together and say all kinds of stuff with regards to our religion, with regards to Our Faith,
But keep in mind one thing no matter what efforts we make NOTHING . . absolutely NOTHING GOOD will come of it.
“The public will believe anything, so long as it is not founded on truth.” - Edith Sitwell
As I see it “This is a TEST of OUR FAITH”, this is a test to see which of us is the WEAKEST LINK. .
Please people have FAITH . . . believe in everything that has be taught to you. . . do not forget your religion . . HAVE FAITH IN IT
Times like these call for More Faith and more strength than ever before . . . For GOD will be PLEASED to see that in times like these OUR FAITH in HIM, his SON, and the HOLY BIBLE itself has OUTLASTED everything else.
So lets not take small matters like this to HEART . . . let us SHOW the WORLD . . .that we as CHRISTIANS can DO IT . . . we can succeed and our FAITH in GOD the Almighty will LAST FORVER and nothing what so ever will shake our foundation.
We should be like the house that was built on the mountain, and not like the house that was built on the SAND . . .
In our case our Faith and our religion is our MOUNTAIN and we are built on IT. So the water cannot wash us away nor can the wind blow us down.
HAVE FAITH PEOPLE. . . . FOR GOD WILL SURELY LOVE YOU MORE FOR IT. . . .
“Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.” - Alexander Hamilton

People that knock the Christian faith are miserable people. They think because they have overcome what they deem as being subservient, that it somehow equates to intelligence. Those that lack faith seem to be one-dimensional types. They are seeking, but try and ignore the need for some sort of reason for being. Those are part of the haughty ones.

it was a good murder mystery, but nothing more. the book was based on 2 works, one a work of fiction accredited as a work of fiction, the other a work of fiction that was a man's attempt to name himself king of france (he forged documents saying that Jesus had moved to france and established his kingdom there with mary magdalene and claimed that he was the royal bloodline. he later testified in court under oath that the documents were forged)
no art scholar who knows anything refers to the artist as "da vinci" (which simply means "from venice") , but as leonardo.
there are multiple errors in the claims of the book, but it is a good read for a mystery novel, you just have to know what is true and what is not.
