I am 5'7 and weigh 225. I know I won't be up for all the walking, stair climbing, etc..if I don't drop at least 10-15 lbs. Prob is I have the willpower of a marshmallow...but I must do this! It's waaay too hot to go out and walk or exercise where I live. Atkins makes me sick. Any ideas?

maybe if you could afford it you could join a cheap public pool/gym. I've been in the process of losing weight myself. I know what you mean about no willpower. ..LOL...in the last 2 months though i have lost 27lbs. I joined a local fittness center. it only cost me $20.00 a month. I go there and swim 20 laps, and walk 2.7 miles on the tread mile. (which is exactly 1 hour. i'm picking up my pace . it used to take 1 hour to walk 1.5 miles.) food wise. well i am just eatting better. i gave up all pop...sorry you probably call it soda. no chips, cookies, cakes, bread, or ice cream.

here is a couple of menus i would normally in have in a day
Day 1:
breakfast: 2 egg omlet with 2 slices of kraft singles, black coffee

lunch: a big grilled chicken salad( mixed greens, tomatoes, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, green peppers, shredded cheese, chicken) with low fat dressing, a peace of fruit(i'm a banana person) and maybe some yougurt(lowfat)

dinner: broiled steak, half baked potato with butter, and/or low fat ranch dressing( yes we still need a certain amount of fats in our body or we will go into starvation mode, and instead of losing weight/burning fat cells our body will store them up) a vegetable...side salad, and another piece of fruit or sugar free jello for desert.
I try not to eat after 7pm but if i really feel like i need something..i'll have pork rines(no carbs) or some carrot sticks, celery sticks, or a piece of fruit.
I only drink water during the day except for breakfast and dinner. i have a glass of milk for dinner.
I wouldn't really call what i am doing a diet but a healthier way of eatting. I have 2 children, and when i got pregnant for my oldest i had gestational dieabetes, and then again with my son. and now i have type 2 dieabeties.
my old daily menu: breakfast : coffee with hot chocolate and creamer mixed in (added up to 52 carbs per cup) i would drink two travel sized mugs this way
pepsi
pepsi
lunch:pepsi, maybe some chips
pepesi
pepsi
dinner: steak, mashed potaoes, corn, lots and lots of bread
pepsi
pepsi
pepsi
then around 10pm after every one else in the house was in bead: chips, cakes, pepsi, i would order pizza, or go to wendy's, or make ramen noodles, or eat a 1/4 gallon of ice cream.

when i was growing up, my family (and they still do) used food for every thing. to celebrate, to morn, for get togethers
we/ i would eat if i was bored, when ever i turned the tv on, to celebrate a birthday you went out to eat, to clebrate christmas, halloween, easter, thanksgiving, babies being born, and thing you could imagine celebrating we did it by going out to eat/or making a huge meal. it we were sad we/i would eat. food wa even a prize /praise for doing some thing good. he** i even potty trainned my son buy giving him gummy bears if he went to the potty.( like a dog getting a treat for a reward.) yes, my son is over weight! And it is MY FAULT! i am trying to correct it, but it is hard because it is the way i was raise. i would like to teach my son a heathy eatting habbit now so, that he won;t ever have to worry about his weight ever again.( and to be healthy)

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

First, let me say I don't believe in diets...I believe in a healthy lifestyle....but if you really want to drop pounds that fast. Try The South Beach diet for four weeks. You have the potential to lose 7-13 pounds in the first two weeks. Also, if it is too hot to walk. I highly suggest Pilates and Yoga. I lost pounds and inches and built up muscle and increased my stamina after having my twins thanks to Yoga and Pilates. You can buy a DVD at Target or where ever and it only takes 20 minutes a day. I did it while my twins crawled all over me:) Also, drink LOTS of water. If possible go to your local mall and walk for cardio excercise! You can do it!!! Good luck and God Bless you and your will for better health. P.S. Don't stay on the South Beach forever...it encourages the use of sugar free drinks and sugar substitutes and prolonged use of those types of products are very unhealthy.

I went on a diet last yr and toned up real fast by exercising with Denise Austin and using slim fast. I promise you if you start out with her in what ever level you can stand you will see results that will blow you away.I have her on cable where I am at and did not have to buy a program. Also drink a lot of water and eat all the raw veggies you want, this will help flush the fat.

It is never good to lose too much weight too fast. up to 2 pounds per week is ideal. If you burn more calories than you consume you can lose the weight you want in 2 months. Drink lots of water (at least 64 oz) and stay away from fats and sweets.
