I'm a very social person but it anoys me When speaking to a very religious person when every other sentence has to some how involve God and makes me feel uneasy since I personally don't believe in God and don't practice religion. Are these peoples lives that empty?

It is possible that their lives are that empty. It could be that these are the people who have those bumper stickers that say "if god is you co pilot you need to switch seats."

Some people have lost sight of the fact that religion is a tool to help us with difficult times and to give us guidance on life and the unknowable. Some people think that rather than a tool, it is the end-all, be-all of this existence. Some people find life so very difficult that they don't want to go it alone, they want that god protection around them all the time, lest something bad happen or they lose their way (sometimes they are afraid to lose their way again and for this reason use religion as a life jacket or life preserver).

When I encounter this in my life, I try to remember "to each his own" and I vote with my feet and walk away. The only time I really object is when people like that try to get into my life and judge me or convert me or in some way try to manipulate me into doing what they want or seeing things their way.

That is by design to show you and the whole world the deep truth about religion and religious people. I do think you see the true facts in that their life is truly empty of the pure truth.

In my opinion they have filled their life so full of religion and their made up past time that there is just no room for any common sense any more. Please I do enjoy talking about My God all the time but it is written there is a time to laugh and a time to cry, etc. That means there is a time for everything but most pay no heed to the very God they so much want to deny by being a pest to all most of the time.

Of course they do want to be a guide to all, however with no room inside for common sense they can not see they can get more flies with honey than vinegar so they buy vinegar by the truck load.

I got no more to say except to say smile and maybe when they talk to you about their God they will think you are crazy and just walk away. If that don't work try to start picking your nose, then look at your finger or offer to shake hands. That works all the time.

Their belief involving God is such a central part of their lives that they relate most everything that happens with it. Many Christians feel they should "witness" at every opportunity (though the only people who really witnessed anything involving Christ died more than 1900 years ago). They don't mind making people feel uneasy if they think they can save some.

I suppose this is true for some people of other religions also.

I "played the game" enough to know that from experience - maybe still am in a different way :)

My friend, we are to put God first in our lives.
We are to spread His Word to all who will listen.
Those who don't want to hear, like yourself really need to get their lives in order and ask God to forgive you.
Also I really like to let people know that I am a believer, so if it makes them uncomfortable they can walk away. I don't like pushing God on anyone, but maybe just maybe, I might be able to help some lost soul find the love, peace,
and will God has for us all. So truly our lives are anything but empty. We are full through His Grace.

Witnessing is an important part of Christianity. The religious people you talk to enjoy talking about God because he lives within them, and they want to share their happiness with you. If you do not believe, that is your opinion. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16 Your Christian friends along with myself want an eternal life; my guess is that your friends want you to be there with them when they celebrate it.

coz we love God. its our life. were not trying to make u feel uncomfortable.

but im sure if we loved video games and we always mentioned games and stuff, u wouldnt mind. or if we were sporty we were talking about our hobby, or if we loved dancing, and we were mentioning all things to do with dance....
people talk about what they love. what they are involved in. you should stop being insecure. if they arent pushing YOU into it, there just talking about it, theres nothing wrong with it.

you feel uncomfortable not because you dont believe, its because your spirit believes, and is convicting your soul, coz your spirit, like every God-craving spirit, is crying out for God.

Let them speak about God, and you speak about your interests too.

Fanaticism is the word i believe. Too much of anything is not good for you. particularly, if its not the place and time to discuss such matters. if there are fanatics of all types, this is one of those... i'm with you on that. but as i said if you go to extremes you are in trouble, having none, and having too much...

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
