Not all people think that, but for a select few it is easier for them to be ignorant than to be educated.

Because they don't know what they believe in... Wicca isn't a religion anyway, it's a conglomeration of spiritual beliefs but what makes it 'not' a religion, at least in my mind, is that there are so many different beliefs depending on which wiccan you ask... and some do worship the devil or an equivalent ;-) Also, many 'religious' people believe if you are worshiping anything other than their God then you are worshiping the devil anyway.
Mostly, people don't understand, see something different, and assume it's devil worship in action. The fact that they (you I assume?) call themselves witches doesn't help the matter... Witches historically have always been associated with devil worship and other naughty deeds... so basically, while you may have the motto 'hurt no one' or an equivalent, not all 'witches' do... I agree most who would call themselves wiccan don't worship the devil, but above is why so many people believe they/you do ;-)
By the way, so that everyone knows where I stand on the matter (oh, even many/most wiccans call my religion devil worship, knowing nothing of it...)
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
Love is the law, love under will.

Ignorance, and a fear of anyone else who is not of their belief, or thinks the same as them. Until I got on here I didn't even know there were wicanns. I can respect you and your beliefs, it doesn't have an impact on me or my salvation or the things in which I believe. The problem I have is there are too many who say or make comments on here that are misleading and intolerant. I feel people should at least go to the source to find out about something they have questions on, instead of hateful people telling lies and answering questions they know nothing about.

Because people remember half of a story they heard of witches being burned in Salem for "being in league with the Devil!!!" and figure "all them pilgrims jes can't be wrong". Never mind the fact that if you go to Salem you find out that those poor people, mostly young girls, were so unjustly treated and this terrible sterotype lives on.

Its a missconception by uneducated christians.... I'm a christian, but I still find it amazing how all it takes is for one person to say "devil worshipper" and all of the 700 club fans jump on bored without the first bit of research. I use to play dungeons and dragons, so this local youth group had a witch hunt with me and my buddy as the stars. As they are saying It is evil because... Im like, actually there is nothing like that in the game.... I love my fellow christians, but sometimes, its like What are you thinking....

Because they buy into the commercialism of Halloween and stupid movies. Some people just associate the devil with Wicca because they are ignorant.

you can blame that on the Catholic church back in the dark ages. the church was competing with paganism and the church started a bad ad campaign against paganism saying they worshiped the devil, did child sacrifices and all sorts of evil, nasty things. religion controlled the people and whomever controlled religion controlled the people. basically it turned into politics

because the only people that call wiccans (or any form of pagan) a devil worshipper is someone that hasnt bothered to learn anything about wicca, and therefore go off of what their equally uneducated fellow church goers told them, that they heard from another uneducated church goer, that heart at a convention that some wiccans follow the 'green man' who looks an awefully lot like the christian depiction of the devil.
its like playing telephone. you whisper something in someones ear, they whisper it in someone elses ear, and by the time its gone around the room it's gone from "Cheesy nachos" to "Van Halen Rocks"

dont wiccans believe in supernatural powers? but they dont believe in God?
if this is the case, the only supernatural powers other than God's power, its the devils. wether they believe it or not, the devil and his demons, is where they draw there power from, which is why its such a dark and horrible experience for most who get in too deep.
God is real, so is satan.

Because they don't understand them. I believed that until a friend studied the rituals. He scared me at first, but explained some of the beliefs. I'm not afraid of "witches" anymore.

Because they think that the God & Goddess are actually Satan in disguise. That's the explanation they give. Sort of a "Even if you don't believe it, you're still worshipping Satan!"
