Risperdal, an anti-psychotic, is used for treatment of schizophernia with some success.

Anyone knows an actual case where taking anti-psychotic has helped improve the personality of someone with Paranoid
personality disorder?

thanks!

Yes, I have seen patients at our local VA hospital take Risperdal for paranoid behavior. You have to be closely monitored. Some people it helps; other no.
The problem is keeping a parnoid individual on the meds to work.

I think it is worth a try.
Go to a good psychopharmacologist.
Of course paranoids are always paranoid of a mental health practicioner so it IS difficult. They often end up suspecting the shrink of doing things to them and begin accusing them of things.

I would start by taking a highly potent B vitimin pill.

Sometimes Effexsor, an antidepressant will work for this.

"paranoid personality disorder" is just a label. so if you look at it in terms of symptoms, if you stop and think about how there are many schizophrenics who have found anti-psychotic medication effective in helping their paranoid, delusional behavior, then yes these medications would also help out someone who who has a paranoid personality
