It depends on the cost of your haircut, but never tip your hairdresser less than a waitress! Your meal is in and out in a day, but your hair is on your head for four months!

On a haircut and style that costs $40, I tip about $8. On a full color + highlights + cut + style that costs about $200, I tip $25.

These prices are for women, I would expect men to pay less. Generally, if you want a good hair cut next time don't go lower than $5!

I go by whether the hairstylist was friendly, listened to and understood what I wanted, how good the cut turned out, and whether or not I would come back for my next cut.

If the stylist was just okay to good on all points, then 15% of the cost of the cut. If the stylist was really good, then 20%. If the haircut actually brought tears of joy to my eyes (which did happen once), then 25%.

When paying for service I start with 25% of the total as tip and deduct or increase judging on how I feel my services turned out and how well I was treated as a customer. I've only stiffed a service once!( tipped nothing)

I really really like my hairdresser. So I gage it by the hour. Under 2 hours I give her $10...over 2 hours I give her $20.

tip ur hairdresser only if u like what thay did, a tip is not given unless the job thay do is good, this idea that everyone should be tipped is a crock,a tip is given as gratitude for a good job.

I would think the same as a waiter/waitress. I usually give them $3.. because the prices have gone up so much.
