Almighty God is not a polytheistic triad of gods, but a single person.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Christian art from the first centuries until the Dark Ages shows God the Father as an Exalted Man.

The most ancient Christian records outside of the Bible itself (the Clementine Recognitions) present God the Father as an Exalted Man! The first time that God the Father was presented as a Spirit "without body, parts, or passions" was in the Catholic Councils of the late 4th century; in which only Catholic bishops were invited (the Marcionite bishops being sold into slavery).

Many Catholics of the 2nd century were follows of Montanus (c. 175 A.D.).

It's called the Holy Trinity. The church was having troubles describing Jesus as God, and God as a single entity, if they already were claiming that there is only one true God (if there's only one God, then how can Jesus be God on earth?) So the church leaders created the Holy Trinity. the Almighty God takes on three forms - God the father/guardian (a physical being that exists) God the Son (Jesus Christ is considered God, in human form walking among us) and God the Holy Spirit (God in a spirit/phsycic form). It's basically one God taking on three different forms

When you referred to people saying God is 3. You are prolly thinkin about the idea of Trinitarianism. That's the belief of many Catholics that God is one, but is embodied by three entities. They might be different but they all embody the one God that we worship.
