It's amazing how when ordinary people put on some form of uniform how much they change into something full of megalomania, delusions of grandeur and paranoia.I have a total mistrust of uniforms and authority in general. Priests however come high on the list alongside a lot of cops. the hypocrisy these people generate is hurting society. Claptrap about the law, which of course we need was founded on religious beliefs laid down thousands of years ago dont apply today.
The poor in society have no chance against the rich when it comes to defending themselves, mainly thanks to corrupt lawyers feeding frenzy for money.
There are however some bloody good cops out there, however when the dollars are waived in front of you who is strong enough to say no? Everyone has their price dont they?
Problem is ,what to do about it? The people we trust to keep society clean of corruption are part of the system.
Have a good one my friend.
Keep happy.
Take a look at http://thebaldchemist.blogspot.com where I have written about authority and other things but with a total piss take and humour. Enjoy it. Cheers

Well...first of all remember this. Cops are from the same gene pool as everyone else. Therefore you have good and bad ones. Also standards have been lowered in many places because of hiring shortages, lawsuits,etc.. This adds to the problem. Such as the police during Katrina that were shoplifting in the local WalMart. Also in order for one to be in any position of authority they should have exemplary ethics. This is often not the case due to many of the reasons above. I don't know what kind of experiences you have had with law enforcement but obviously they weren't good ones. People usually deal with the police either as a victim or a suspect. Neither of which is a good experience. Most people that complain were caught doing something illegal or a traffic violation. Then they complain how the cop treated them and how it wasn't their fault. Perhaps if you believe as strongly as you do you should change the laws or go into law enforcement yourself, providing you don't have a record. No one is perfect. It's just that some are a lot more visible. Finally if you see a cop committing a violation of the law report him or her. They are not above the law. Look at how effective videotaping has become.

There are a lot of dedicated officers out there. you will always have bad apples but it's the same in any job community. Don't let the bad ones influence you in a negative way. And remember cops are human too and have bad (worse) days then the average person. Try living normally after you just found a bloated corpse abandoned in an apartment building. Or listening to a woman explain why her boyfriend beat her sensless because "dinner was too hot". Ok enough but just be open.

I dated a cop, and he was a wonderful, honest and honorable person. I met a lot of other wonderful cops while I was with him. It sounds like you've had some bad cop experiences. I had one once too, but meeting all of those wonderful police officers has really changed my attitude toward cops. Many of them are fantastic. Get to know some! You may be pleasantly surprised.

I agree totally! They receive entirely too much attention as well if sonmething goes wrong. For instance, if a cop is killed they have special funerals etc etc. But what about those that the cops kill? yeah, that's what I'm talking about! Hypocrites get what they deserve.

Your just a f()cking Thug...That's why they treat you that way! - - Try being a decent human being.
I'd rather have a cop on my side than someone who can't follow the basic rules and respect of those who risk thier lives for me.
